Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a type of diagnostic imaging that gives us a three-dimensional view of your dental and facial anatomy down to the smallest details.
One scan provides an incredible amount of visual information
A CBCT scan is used in situations where regular x-rays don’t provide sufficient information. The device captures hundreds of different x-rays as it rotates around your head. The images are stitched together to form a 3D view of your entire dental and facial anatomy, including the teeth, jaws, nerve pathways, sinus cavities, temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and root canals.
Fast and Comfortable
A CBCT scan takes less than a minute. You’ll be comfortably seated in an open area while the device rotates around your head.
Shows Your Anatomy in 3D
The imaging tool shows more visual information than a one-dimensional x-ray, including intricate anatomical structures like nerve pathways and sinuses.
Improves Treatment Planning
CBCT imaging allows for more precise treatment planning, making it especially useful for cases such as orthodontics, dental implants, impacted wisdom teeth and jaw tumors.
Enhances Safety
The dentist can see structures without having to make incisions and is able to navigate around your unique anatomy when performing procedures.
