We want every child to have a happy, healthy smile
Children have unique oral health needs and our experienced dentists know how to meet them. We use tried-and-true behavioral techniques and a gentle approach to put infants, children and teens at ease. Our dentists focus on education and collaboration to teach little ones and their families how to establish healthy oral habits that will last a lifetime.
Preventive dentistry for kids
Dental exams & cleanings
We tailor dental exams and cleanings to each child’s age and needs. Our team takes an interactive approach, showing kids any instruments we’ll be using and demonstrating how they work to reduce anxiety.
During the visit, your child will receive a gentle, but thorough cleaning, followed by a dental exam. The dentist will answer any questions, go over topics like oral habits, diet and homecare, and provide personalized recommendations.
Topical fluoride treatments
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens enamel and fights cavities. At visits, we’ll ask about your child’s fluoride intake and determine their risk for tooth decay. We may or may not recommend finishing their appointment with a topical fluoride treatment. The quick, easy procedure involves simply painting a varnish onto your child’s teeth.
Dental sealants
Protective dental sealants have been proven to be exceptionally effective at preventing cavities in kids’ back teeth. Our dentists paint a thin layer of a clear, BPA-free solution onto your child’s six-year and 12-year molars. The material seals the pits and grooves found on the chewing surfaces of these teeth, which protects against bacteria, acids and food particles. Dental sealants are affordable and applying them is fast and simple.
Benefits Of preventive dental care
Prevents oral disease
Preventive dental care can ward off issues like tooth decay altogether or, at least, ensure problems are caught in their earliest stages when treatment will be easier.
Promotes healthy habits
Our dentists educate parents and kids on how to take proper care of their teeth and gums. Establishing good oral hygiene habits early will benefit children for life.
Builds rapport
Keeping up with routine dental care helps kids get comfortable with the sights and sounds of the dental office and establishes trust and rapport with the dental team.
